What a night to remember. This was my fist time shooting a wedding on New Years Eve, and boy was it a long day. I started the day by getting to the hotel around noon to prep the rooms for shooting. The ceremony was set to be in the ball room, a windowless room, so I lit it, and the reception was to be in the newly renovated Spinnaker.
This was actually the very first event to be held there, construction had been finished earlier last week and I had been up there several times with Diana to see the facility. The room is the 16th floor, the top and is a panoramic view of the city. Three walls all glass looking out onto the city provide the view.
Diana and Dave were totally great to work with, so was their laid back bridal party, heck I think I was more nervous than they were. All together the Bridal party was over twenty people. Everything went smooth, the Hotel did a great job of taking care of everyone. The guest, along with Diana and Dave danced to Italian music of every sort until about 1:30 a.m.
Since Diana is my cousin, many of the guest were my family as well, making things a little hectic at times when everyone wants you to sit down and eat. But I kept on working and only put my camera down, but not far away, after midnight so that I could celebrate my cousins wedding and New Years with my family and friends as well.
Below are some of my favorite picks, I will post the full gallery alter this week.
P.S keep an eye out for my new website, I should be uploading it later this week.
Portraits of Dave and Diana on Memorial drive after the ceremony. It was really really cold! We spent about five minuets outside and than headed back in.
Diana on this funcky green couch!
Some getting ready shots, including Diana and her dog Taco.
Her Dress and Shoes..
Diana's nephew and ring bearer Mario yawning..he was very tired and said he was cold in the shorts.
The guys doing shots, toasting to Dave and Diana.
All the guys on the river.
The Spinnaker is really well lit, with lots of funcy colors. It gave me a chance to test out my new 35mm f1.4 lens. Just check out the ambiance and butterflies.
A tearfull dance between Diana and her father Mario..
And than it was just dancing..
