So there is a new little tike in my family.  Little Robert was born last week to my cousin Louis and his wife Stefanie.  I have many cousins and now I have one more, my family can never be too big I guess.

Robert was brought home Sunday, but I could not make it over till yesterday, tuesday, and I took the advantage of having a new born to shoot some film.  If you read my blog you'll know I am kinda falling in love with film all over again, but anyway, I borrowed my friend Barry's Pentax 6x7 camera and shot one roll of Kodak VC 400 and one B+W 400tx.  20 shots in all. Every thing you see below is straight from the camera, no photoshop or adjustments.

Shooting the 6x7 format was pretty fun, the view was great from the camera and it was very cool to operate and click the shutter and pull the film winder.  I love manual cameras.

Little Robert slept the entire shoot and never woke up, he was all wrapped up and cozy.

I just had a great meeting with some new clients here at my studio and I was showing them some of my film work when it dawned on me to maybe post some of my really old film images that have not seen light for a while.  There are some shots from Boston and the Dominican Republic, with Haitians working on a sugar plantation.

I also wanted to show off some portraits of Shekia that I shot last week.  She has great eyes and I tried to make them the focus of the images.  I hope you enjoy!

Its been over ten years since I picked up my first camera and started making pictures.  Time flies and if you don't stop to look around everyone once in a while your going to miss something (yes I know thats from Ferris, lol, Save Ferris!).

Anyways I am putting together a book of my favorite non wedding work from this past decade and I figured I would share some of it here with you.  When I look back at some of my early work, I don't always love my composition or lighting, but the shots still have meaning and thats why I love them.

Enjoy!

I have always wanted to shoot an anti-bride, which to me is anything totally non-traditional.  Sarah here is not a real bride and this was a shoot just to explore some of the fun and style that could be found with a more goth and punk look.

Any chance for me to make something new or look different and be able to explore new ideas is always a chance I want to take.

I wanted to see if I could be a little bit more edgy and see where that could lead me.  The dress was from a runway show that Lorraine Roy loaded to me and they also donated the model Sarah to me for the day.  Hair and makeup were done by Twisted Elegance artist Alisha Dube.

The jewelry the bride is wearing is from Chrome Hearts in Las Vegas, some awesome stuff.

We shot in East Boston at Orient Heights next to the giant cross that overlooks Boston.  In my mind I had this cross glowing as I always see it when I drive by.  Alas, it never lighted up while I was there and we even waited, but light was fading fast so we had to start shooting.  It was a bout 29 degrees out, but no wind or moisture in the air so it was very workable.  The entire shoot took about 15 minuets and then we were back in my warm truck heading back to the studio.

I hope you like these images.  I had a blast shooting them and even though we froze our hinds off I think it was totally worth it.
