Many people today have never shot film and have only experienced shooting digital. I shot film for years, learned photography on film and started my career with film, so its only fair I share film with the world.

I went skiing last week in New Hampshire with my cousin Vinny and I brought my camera up on one of the runs we made. It was super cold out and snowy. Powder covered the mountain and the skiing was glorious. It was some of the best skiing I have expierenced in a long time, It was also my first time back on the slope in about 2 years.

The first few runs I was a little rusty on, but my the end of the day I hit the terrain park and some jumps. I can't wait to get back on the slopes.

More Film! Yea!

I just got back a number of rolls of film from the lab. I love getting my film back, its always such a surprise and film looks gloriously un-perfect! Everything with my digital gear is so sharp and as I said, perfect, that I love the way my film looks from my horizon camera, warped, lens distortion, focus off (its a fixed focus camera) and just plain sweet!

Here a few shots from both an engagement shoot and my trip to Nashville and the flight home. I had a layover at Washington D.C and so I decided to shoot pictures of airport life.

Joseph and Abby (peachesbyplums) will select from top eligible videos (from dates that he is available to shoot on) and post the 10 best videos on his blog. The video with the most comments will win the free photography from Joseph.

Videos must be submitted by January 29^th and voting will start on the blog www.josephpreziosophotos.com/blog on January 30^th with the winner be selected on February 5^th.

Polaroid and best hamburger ever.

Last night I had a meeting with one of my 2010 couples, Michael and Vaila, for their wedding at Bel Mar in Newport. We met at the state room to go over their day and talk about cool ideas and their engagement shoot. It was great to meet them and I think their wedding is going to be a absolute awesome time with all the work they are putting into it.

They want to do a polaroid guest book and so I searched the web and I think this will be a great idea for the wedding. Its just getting polaroid film that can be an issue. I really wish I had a polaroid camera myself sometimes.

Anyway, after the meeting I met up with my brother's fiance Jesse and my friend Rebecca and we headed to the new Ames hotel on state street. Now we almost waked right by this place, but when I stopped to ask someone where it was he said,"you here," well the place has no sign so you kinda just gotta know!

Once inside it was like being in something you see only on TV like CSI or one of those cool Vegas hotels. So we headed to the bar and ordered. I was told earlier that I had to try this late night hamburger and so I did.

The waiter brought it over to the table and I took a bite. Never, ever have I had a hamburger taste like this. It melted in my mouth and was full of flavor. It was like heaven. All I know is I will be back. A $15 hamburger that is perfect.

I also think this hotel would be perfect for a cool engagement shoot or fashion shoot. Can't wait to see what the new year will bring!

I went to a wedding at Bel Mar two years ago, and it is a beautiful site! Pictures overlooking the water and the Hope Bridge at sunset are stunning!

An easy workaround for your client that wanted the Polaroid guestbook is to take the photos and then use a little program called Poladroid (www.poladroid.net) and it will create Polaroid photos for you with the look and feel as if you did it with the actual thing. Take a look at it, at the very least you'll enjoy the 'fire and forget' aspect of it.

Christmas day fun

I just wanted to share some of my moments or traditions from my family Christmas with you. Me and my family spend the day at my Nona's house where we eat and drink and eat again. We exchange presents and play cards. Its a fun day when the entire family gets together and enjoys the same foods we have for as many christmases as I can remember. Stuffed peppers, fired zucchini, pasta, eggplant parm, rabbit, beef, lamb and so many pastries!
