I just had a great meeting with some new clients here at my studio and I was showing them some of my film work when it dawned on me to maybe post some of my really old film images that have not seen light for a while. There are some shots from Boston and the Dominican Republic, with Haitians working on a sugar plantation.

I also wanted to show off some portraits of Shekia that I shot last week. She has great eyes and I tried to make them the focus of the images. I hope you enjoy!

Haitians working on a sugar plantation, and other farms in the D.R. These images are old slides from about ten year ago.

Its been over ten years since I picked up my first camera and started making pictures. Time flies and if you don't stop to look around everyone once in a while your going to miss something (yes I know thats from Ferris, lol, Save Ferris!).

Anyways I am putting together a book of my favorite non wedding work from this past decade and I figured I would share some of it here with you. When I look back at some of my early work, I don't always love my composition or lighting, but the shots still have meaning and thats why I love them.
Enjoy!

I just got back a number of rolls of film from the lab. I love getting my film back, its always such a surprise and film looks gloriously un-perfect! Everything with my digital gear is so sharp and as I said, perfect, that I love the way my film looks from my horizon camera, warped, lens distortion, focus off (its a fixed focus camera) and just plain sweet!

Here a few shots from both an engagement shoot and my trip to Nashville and the flight home. I had a layover at Washington D.C and so I decided to shoot pictures of airport life.

Julie and adam.

Sunrise at Logan.

Imaging USA at the Gaylord Opera House. One giant hotel. Yes thats me below.

II think the bear scared the kid, lol.

Behind the hotel I stayed at was a little street of shops and restaurants. I had some fun exploring it with Jeri.

Back at the airport.

Cockpit. I really need to learn to fly, it look so awesome!

Flights delayed.

Pilots heading to their next flight.

Getting back on the plane.

The view from my seat! Sunset was awesome!

Every year I spend a week at the Imaging USA convention which coincides with the DWF seminars. Last year the convention was in Arizona and this year it was in Nashville, TN. It was a great learning experience and I always find out something I did not know before, but most of all I get to hang out with all my wedding photographer friends from around the world. If you think you party hard, you have never seen wedding photographers going bar hopping, lol. It was a super great time and I cherish every moment of it.

Aside from the trade show and seminars I checked out the city itself and found all sorts of southern music and cowboys. I am posting my digital shots here as I have a ton of film to get developed from my horizon camera still.
I also found some sic new albums too!
A Vintage store I checked out. It was run by this old lady, and she was jamming to some really horrible 80's music. I am a huge 80's music fan, but the stuff she was playing could kill you. haha.

A Kraus.

Broadway lights.

In the dark we photographers are all abound!

The lovely Crystal.

Fun with Jack, Crystal and Jeri! We had a blast!

Country music on Nashville's broadway. A very fun area.

Lights!

Some new album covers for the wicked cool book series! Wow!

This is a great new matted parents album I fell in love with.

First time I have ever seen a White Castle, lol. Taken from the bus I was on.
