Welcome to my blog! Hi everyone!  This is the place where I post my latest weddings, shoots and travel details.  If you want to see what I am doing, this is the place to be.
June 2, 2010

I was back in Vegas this memorial day weekend to shoot a incredible wedding with Kelly and Ken, two New Yorkers that moved to Vegas and met in Vegas.  They were totally awesome, as were their friends and family and I had a amazing time working with them and documenting their love.

I met up with Ken and Kelly first for their rehearsal dinner on the grand patio at the Bellagio, where they had also put me up to stay.  It was a great party with tons of food and music and drinks for everyone.  Their was not a soul around who did not have fun.

The next day I woke up and headed over to the Mandarin Oriental to one of the corner suits where Kelly was getting ready with her bridesmaids and mother.  Her makeup was done and she was having her hair done by Ira Sage from the Roberts Cromeans salon, who rocked her out with a great hairdo.

Kelly's Vera Wang dress was a pink champaign in color and just incredible, I had to find the best place in the room to photograph it, and I found the right spot on the doorways to her bedroom.

From there I headed to the Tom Ford store where Ken was getting suited up.  He looked sharp and was super excited for the coming hours.

After Kelly was all decked out in her gown and Ken suited up, we headed to the Ballroom at the Mandarin to do some family photos before venturing out around the hotel for some really kick ass portraits of Ken and Kelly.  They were a great couple to shoot and there was no end to their love and expressions through the shoot.

There ceremony was back in the main ballroom with a wicked hupa and tons of lights and fabrics to transform this entry ballroom into a special place for marriage.  Their wedding coordinator at the Hotel was Melina Beckett, and her and the staff at the Mandarin did a incredible job with the ceremony and reception, from flowers to the cake, it was all very sweet!

The reception was held on the roof of the hotel, with the cake floating, yes I said floating, on the pool.  There was a sic DJ, DJ D-Miles, and many food stations for all the guest.  This reception was meant to be very unique and hence there were no toast, speeches, formal dances or any traditional wedding procedure.  What there was plenty of was fun, laughter, love and emotion.  The night ended with some mac and cheese and sliders being served up for everyone, they were yummie!

Ken and Kelly planned a truly unique wedding and I am honored to have been able to document it for them.

After my bridal shoot in the previous entry, I spent the next day wondering up and down the main strip to see what I could find.  I found madness and awesomeness everywhere!

I must say I love vegas for the sheer amount of lights and color everywhere.  Its just a magical place that is both fun and scary.  I can't wait to go back!  ahah!

Below are the people and places I saw.

Sin City!  What a place to shoot!  I just got home after spending four days in Las Vegas for WPPI.  I also took some time to meet up with a great couple and shoot them in the desert and on the strip.  We shot out in Red Rock Canyon and on the strip.  The dress was provided by Lorain Roy of Danvers, MA.

It was a great shoot until it started to rain and we had to head back to the hotel.

Check out these shots, they are sweet!

I just had a great meeting with some new clients here at my studio and I was showing them some of my film work when it dawned on me to maybe post some of my really old film images that have not seen light for a while.  There are some shots from Boston and the Dominican Republic, with Haitians working on a sugar plantation.

I also wanted to show off some portraits of Shekia that I shot last week.  She has great eyes and I tried to make them the focus of the images.  I hope you enjoy!

Its been over ten years since I picked up my first camera and started making pictures.  Time flies and if you don't stop to look around everyone once in a while your going to miss something (yes I know thats from Ferris, lol, Save Ferris!).

Anyways I am putting together a book of my favorite non wedding work from this past decade and I figured I would share some of it here with you.  When I look back at some of my early work, I don't always love my composition or lighting, but the shots still have meaning and thats why I love them.

Enjoy!
