Welcome to my blog! Hi everyone!  This is the place where I post my latest weddings, shoots and travel details.  If you want to see what I am doing, this is the place to be.

I was back in Vegas this memorial day weekend to shoot a incredible wedding with Kelly and Ken, two New Yorkers that moved to Vegas and met in Vegas.  They were totally awesome, as were their friends and family and I had a amazing time working with them and documenting their love.

I met up with Ken and Kelly first for their rehearsal dinner on the grand patio at the Bellagio, where they had also put me up to stay.  It was a great party with tons of food and music and drinks for everyone.  Their was not a soul around who did not have fun.

The next day I woke up and headed over to the Mandarin Oriental to one of the corner suits where Kelly was getting ready with her bridesmaids and mother.  Her makeup was done and she was having her hair done by Ira Sage from the Roberts Cromeans salon, who rocked her out with a great hairdo.

Kelly's Vera Wang dress was a pink champaign in color and just incredible, I had to find the best place in the room to photograph it, and I found the right spot on the doorways to her bedroom.

From there I headed to the Tom Ford store where Ken was getting suited up.  He looked sharp and was super excited for the coming hours.

After Kelly was all decked out in her gown and Ken suited up, we headed to the Ballroom at the Mandarin to do some family photos before venturing out around the hotel for some really kick ass portraits of Ken and Kelly.  They were a great couple to shoot and there was no end to their love and expressions through the shoot.

There ceremony was back in the main ballroom with a wicked hupa and tons of lights and fabrics to transform this entry ballroom into a special place for marriage.  Their wedding coordinator at the Hotel was Melina Beckett, and her and the staff at the Mandarin did a incredible job with the ceremony and reception, from flowers to the cake, it was all very sweet!

The reception was held on the roof of the hotel, with the cake floating, yes I said floating, on the pool.  There was a sic DJ, DJ D-Miles, and many food stations for all the guest.  This reception was meant to be very unique and hence there were no toast, speeches, formal dances or any traditional wedding procedure.  What there was plenty of was fun, laughter, love and emotion.  The night ended with some mac and cheese and sliders being served up for everyone, they were yummie!

Ken and Kelly planned a truly unique wedding and I am honored to have been able to document it for them.

If you read my last post about the 8 bit wedding, well this is the couple I am hoping that are going to pull it off.

I met up with Jared and Katelyn and we headed out around sunset to the state park to get some great ocean views.  It was perfect out and we joked with each other the entire shoot.

Can't wait till their wedding next year!

So after a great engagement shoot with Kathleen an Jared tonight, we all sat down for a awesome dinner that the they had cooked for Riley and me.  Over wine and dinner the main conversation was over video game systems and movies. After a while I tossed out the idea of Jared and Katelyn having a NES setup with powergloves and super mario brothers three hooked up to a projector so guest could play during cocktail or later in the evening at the reception.  Just like in the 1989 film, Wizard, I thought it would be incredible.

Katelyn then asked me if I had seen the Mario wedding cake, which I had not.  Now after seeing it, I really hope they decided to have their wedding be NES themes and have a totally awesome cake like this.  Its only fitting :)

This cake was created by BETH at Let them eat Cake.  I don't know who took the photos, but its such a rad cake.

I would say you could make each table at the wedding a different NES game, so guest could be at the Zelda table, or Top Gun Table, it would be such a rad reception.  Maybe even a few Mario songs or themes tossed in here and there.

Just an idea :)

Don't you just love the summer, small towns, and 4th of july parades? I do.  I love traveling to small towns on the 4th of July to see all the festive activities and american fare that is all around.

With that said, I think going for the 4th of July look at a wedding could be very fun!  Doing this could be very simple.  You could collect stuff from your friends and family to be used at your wedding, or you could go one step even better.

Make a road trip with your fiance and go from antique store, to flea market and look for all that is american vintage.  Driving the this past weekend I saw a ton of antique dealers and little town markets that looked like they would be so fun to pick through.  What's junk to others could be a great centerpiece or room decor.  So out of this you could get some great looks for your wedding and some great quality time with your love!

Cheers!

Amy and Mike chose to have their engagement session at one of their favorite locations, the crane estate in Ipswich, Ma.  The theme of the shoot was classic americana, vintage.  So they decided on outfits by Brooks Brothers and then a to do a picnic on the beach.  We only encountered one problem.  The wind.  It swept our picnic away and buried it in sand.  So what was there to do?  How about running around with a Super 8mm camera!

It was a great shoot and I can't wait to shoot their wedding on 10/10/10
